Our Story
Regola Digital Consulting was first conceived in 2020. Richard sought a change of emphasis from lecturing, and had a short break in Devon. He noted that the pandemic had caused a considerable increase in SME online activity, often without acknowledgement of increased vulnerabilities. What could be done?
Thankfully, there was a ready-made solution – a certification for SMEs that would provide a badge of good security practice (Cyber Essentials).

By the time the pandemic started to subside, most organisations had established online activity and sales as normal practice. In 2022, Richard joined forces with Emily to establish a certification body for Cyber Essentials. They added Cyber Assurance and Cyber Essentials Plus to the Regola offering, and have been busy supporting South Devon businesses ever since.

Regola has a wealth of relevant experience. Our Leadership Team is Richard Henson and Emily Godowski. Apart from his many technical activities, Shaun Walton is an assistant assessor for Cyber Essentials. Marketing and other activities are thanks to Renzil Noronha
Richard Henson
Director
Academic and Knowledge-Transfer professional with over 30 years teaching, training, and professional experience. Specialist knowledge in: networks & network management, E-Commerce development and organisational security, digital privacy, cyber liability insurance, Information Risk Management. Passionate supporter of SMEs and supply chain information security and promoter of information risk management appropriate to SMEs.
Professional Qualifications: Chartered IT Professional (CITP) and Engineering Council Chartered Engineer (CEng) since 1998, ISO27001:2005 Lead Auditor (2010), Fellow of British Computer Society (FBCS) since 2014, ISO27001:2013 Lead Auditor (2015). Also, manager of an IASME Certified Assessment Body and certified Assessor for Cyber Essentials, Cyber Assurance.
Emily Godowski
Business Administrator
A Graduate in modern languages, Emily has spent many years as an executive assistant in sectors ranging from broadcasting to fashion, high speed rail and the wine trade.
Her insight into cyber security comes from 4 years spent working in local government IT where, amongst other things, she supervised the implementation of information security training for council employees.
